Dr. David Butts is also a mechanical engineer, which he practiced for ten years before discovering his passion for dentistry. About Dr. B
David E. Butts, DMD
Dr. Butts was born and raised in Spartanburg, SC, continuing more than 250 years of family history in the Hub City community. He holds degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of South Carolina and Georgia Tech. During his decade-long engineering and teaching career, Dr. Butts discovered a passion for dentistry, health, and education. He attended the MUSC College of Dental Medicine in Charleston, SC. After practicing dentistry in Charleston, SC and Columbus, NC for five years, he returned home to Spartanburg and founded Wellspring in 2018. Dr. Butts is a Certified Fellow, Implant Pathway Continuum, and a member of the House of Delegates for the South Carolina Dental Association (SCDA), as well as a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).
